Hanoi issued urgent instructions on the case of a girl in Long Bien who died unexpectedly

KHÁNH AN |

On February 18, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a document directing the urgent inspection and clarification of the death of a 5-month-old baby in Long Bien district.

Regarding this, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Vu Thu Ha assigned the Long Bien District People's Committee to direct the district's functional agencies to urgently inspect, verify, clarify the incident, and strictly handle violations (if any); report to the City People's Committee on the implementation results before February 19, 2025.

Assign the City Police and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, based on their functions and tasks, to coordinate with Long Bien District to direct functional units to inspect, verify, and handle the case according to regulations; report to the City People's Committee on contents beyond their authority (if any).

Previously, speaking with Lao Dong on the afternoon of February 17, Colonel Hua Viet Hung - Head of Long Bien District Police (Hanoi City) - said that the District Police had coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct an investigation of the scene and an autopsy to clarify the cause of the child's death. "We are waiting for the appraisal results" - Mr. Hung said.

As Lao Dong reported, according to the complaint of Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (character's name has been changed) - in Giang Bien ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi, due to busy work, she went online to access childcare groups to find someone to look after her.

When she saw a woman named N on Tram Street (Long Bien Ward, Long Bien District) taking care of the child, Ms. Lan contacted and asked to look after her 5-month-old daughter.

Ms. N introduced herself as a preschool teacher and sent some photos of the children being cared for at home by Ms. N. The price of daycare is 150 thousand VND/day, at night is 250 thousand VND/night. Ms. Lan then sent her child to Ms. N according to the agreed price.

On the morning of February 16, Ms. Lan asked Ms. N if she was upset last night, but Ms. N said she woke her up twice and gave her milk.

At around 11am the same day, Ms. N suddenly reported that the child had to be taken to the emergency room. Ms. Lan went to the hospital and heard that her daughter had not survive.

Immediately afterwards, Ms. Lan and her family reported the incident to the authorities of Long Bien district.

According to Ms. Lan, before sending her child to Ms. N to look after, her daughter was completely healthy. The fact that her daughter suddenly had to be hospitalized for emergency care and died has made her family skeptical. She and her family are waiting for the investigation results of the authorities.
