Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Can commune (Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi) said that on May 15, the Working Group of the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen district and local authorities organized the compulsory land recovery to hand over the site for the Southern Axis Road project through the district.
According to Mr. Hoang, starting at 8:00 a.m., department officers and professional departments of Phu Xuyen district and Chau Can commune along with machinery and vehicles began dismantling the factory items on the land area within the project scope.

Thanks to the good work of propagating and mobilizing households in the past time, the process of the units implementing the project has not allowed any obstacles, making implementation difficult.
At the time of the enforcement, 6 households had previously voluntarily complied with the demolition of 6 works of iron frames with corrugated iron roofs. There are 3 households that have not yet refused to demolish the factory, so the Working Group must handle it according to regulations.
"It is expected that on May 15, the authorities will complete the demolition of the factory works to hand over the site for the project" - Mr. Hoang said.

According to the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen district, this is the final bottleneck of the Southern Axis Road project through the district. The total area of recovered land is 11,400m2, which is public land and agricultural land of 9 households in Cau Gie village (Chau Can commune).
Most of this area is public land managed by the Commune People's Committee or land leased by local authorities with annual payments by households to build factories with an area of 350m2 to more than 3,000m2.
Due to the lack of consensus on compensation and support plans, the site clearance process has been prolonged, slowing down the completion of the entire route.
In order to prevent further delays in the project, the People's Committee of Phu Xuyen district issued a decision to organize compulsory land recovery on May 15 for cases of non-coordination in handing over the site.

The investment project to build the southern axis road of Hanoi (formerly known as the investment project to build the southern axis road of Ha Tay province) was implemented in 2008.
According to the plan, the project has a cross-section of 40m, the route length is 41km, passing through Thanh Oai, Ung Hoa, Phu Xuyen districts and Ha Dong district with a total investment of more than 6,000 billion VND, implemented under the BT (build-transfer contract) form.
By 2018, the project had put into operation 18.5km from Ha Dong to the end of Thanh Oai district. The remaining 23km is under construction, including 14km in Ung Hoa district and 9km in Phu Xuyen district.
