Accordingly, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong, 48 years old, holds the position of Principal of Foreign Trade University (FTU) for the 2025-2030 term.
In the context of domestic and international higher education competition, digital transformation, university governance model transformation to modernity, application of artificial intelligence, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that the issue is not only developing universities according to the wishes of the staff, lecturers, and school leaders but also creating a national university, associated with developing high-quality human resources, improving national competitiveness.
Foreign Trade University in particular and universities in general need to affirm their pioneering role, not only taking the lead in innovation but also leading and developing the system, not only developing themselves, needing to spread in society - the Deputy Minister hoped.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong Huong took over as principal, replacing Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, who retired from management. She is the 9th principal of the Foreign Trade University, since its establishment in 1960.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong was born in 1977, a former student of Course 34 majoring in Foreign Economics at Foreign Trade University. She graduated with a master's degree in economics from Aarhus University (denmark), and received a doctorate in economics from Foreign Trade University.

Ms. Pham Thu Huong participated in a youth leadership training program for higher education institutions and women's leadership in higher education in CHLB Germany.
Ms. Huong received the title of associate professor in 2020.
Before being appointed as Principal of Foreign Trade University, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thu Huong held many positions such as Head of the Department of Professional Affairs of the Vietnam - Japan Institute for Human Resources Development (VJCC), Head of the Department of Planning - Finance, Head of the Department of Training Management, Vice Principal.
In addition, she has also held the role of Trade Union President of Foreign Trade University for many years.
Foreign Trade University (FTU), established in 1960, was originally a foreign trade department under the Faculty of International Relations, School of Economics and Finance managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 1967, Foreign Trade School was officially established, with the task of training talents and providing high-quality human resources in the fields of economics, business, finance - banking, law, technology and foreign languages.
Currently, Foreign Trade University trains 15 majors with more than 30 undergraduate programs. Each year, the school recruits about 4,000 students for three campuses in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Ninh.
The school aims to have a vision of becoming a multi-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary university, leading the country in economic and business training, innovation and startup ecosystem, providing excellent products in training, scientific research and community service, and having a high position in the Asian region.
