Hanoi will arrange a total of 1,012 toilets in the inner city area, around the venue for the parade and activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Of which, 400 toilets will be mobilized from households, agencies, and schools to serve people and tourists completely free of charge.
On the morning of July 30, information from the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment said that units under the Department have coordinated with the authorities of inner-city wards to propagate, mobilize and mobilize 400 toilets from households, agencies, schools... to serve free of charge for people and tourists attending the parade as well as important commemorative activities of the Capital.
Mr. Ngo Thai Nam - Director of the Agricultural and Environmental Technical Center (Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment) - said that the Department's specialized units have conducted a field survey and developed a comprehensive scenario to implement environmental sanitation activities to serve the event.
The event is expected to welcome about one million attendees. To meet the need for public hygiene, the city will arrange a total of 1,012 toilets in key areas, specifically:
Ba Dinh Square central area: 230 toilets installed;
Route to the stands: 203 toilets;
Route from the stands to: 90 toilets;
Routes serving people along the parade route: 75 toilets;
Area serving the organizing forces at 5 fireworks display locations: 14 toilets.
In particular, all free toilets are identified by the Hanoi Center for Agricultural and Environmental Engineering with logos, making it easy for people and tourists to recognize and use.
In addition to mobile and fixed toilets installed by the city, the Department of Agriculture and Environment also mobilized about 400 more toilets from agencies, schools, hospitals and households, creating favorable conditions for people to use them for free during the event.
