Located in a prime location in the former Dong Da district (now O Cho Dua and Dong Da wards), Thai Ha street has long been assessed as a vibrant commercial area in Hanoi. With a length of about 1.27km, this is a vital traffic axis connecting densely populated residential areas and many administrative agencies.
According to PV's records, Thai Ha street concentrates many e-commerce, technology, and fashion stores... Due to its central location and convenient transportation, business activities here are always bustling.
However, due to the large number of vehicles participating in traffic, Thai Ha street also often experiences congestion, especially during rush hours.

According to the new Decision signed and promulgated by Standing Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan, the separate urban design area of Thai Ha street has an area for studying and preparing Urban Design Projects of about 26.46 ha. The land area for preparing Urban Design Projects is about 11.98ha (about 119,862m2). The length of the route is about 1.27 km.
The biggest difference of developing a separate Urban Design compared to the general plan is the detail and concretization. Based on current regulations, this project will not only stop at functional zoning but go deeper into controlling architectural landscape space.
Specifically, the project will clearly define the construction height for each project, the required rear angle to ensure clear visibility and traffic safety. More importantly, separate urban design will provide unified standards on the main color of the street, facade building materials, and urban utility systems such as street lights, stone benches, and signposts.
In particular, the project emphasizes the solution of organizing space at "clutter points" and important intersections. For example, in the Thai Ha - Chua Boc intersection area, the planning orientation is to research and design flower gardens and miniatures combined with open space. This turns dry concrete street corners into visual highlights, bringing benefits to the community.

Living on Thai Ha street for more than 10 years, Ms. Le Hang Nga (Dong Da ward) expressed her joy when she heard the information that her street was approved for Private Urban Design. "Although there is no detailed information about which location will be newly built or renovated, I hope this street will be planned more spaciously and synchronously to be worthy of being the face of the area," Ms. Nga said.
The approval of a separate urban design for Thai Ha street is of great significance in the context that Hanoi is making efforts to embellish the urban face, and is a legal basis for local authorities to manage construction order and handle cases of expansion and making advertising signs that violate regulations.
Hanoi City People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture to organize the inspection and confirmation of dossiers, drawings and Regulations for managing the Urban Design Project of Thai Ha street alone, at a scale of 1/500 in O Cho Dua and Dong Da wards in accordance with the decision; store dossiers according to regulations.
Assign Dong Da Ward People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Planning and Architecture, O Cho Dua Ward People's Committee to complete management regulations, organize the public announcement of the content of the approved Urban Design project for relevant organizations, agencies and people to know; review the contents of higher-level planning and urban design to update, ensure synchronization and compliance with current regulations.
