Hanoi is deploying the highest scenario to respond to heavy rain.

Hanoi City requests units to maintain 100% of personnel on duty before, during and after rain, and proactively operate drainage works in areas at risk of flooding.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 13:00 on August 18, the center of the tropical depression was at about 19.5 degrees North latitude - 116.3 degrees East longitude, over the sea east of the Northern East Sea area.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6 (39-49 km/h), gusting at level 8. The tropical depression is moving in a westerly direction at a speed of about 20 km/h.

Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Technical Infrastructure Management Center (Hanoi Department of Construction) said that the unit has implemented solutions, activating the highest scenario to respond to heavy rain at points at risk of flooding.

Units are required to maintain 100% of personnel on duty before, during and after rain, proactively monitor weather developments, and operate drainage works to limit flooding.

According to the Hanoi Department of Construction, in the face of the complicated developments of heavy rain and increasing pressure on urban infrastructure, the city is supplementing air conditioning and drainage capacity, gradually completing the system according to the plan.

Along with the projects that have been put into operation, Hanoi City continues to connect drainage routes, increase water storage capacity, control ground elevation and apply data in operation.

Hanoi Department of Construction has directed Hanoi Drainage One Member Limited Liability Company to coordinate with investors to operate the system, ensuring drainage in the 2026 rainy season.

For 4 projects that have completed the main items and are completing auxiliary items, the city requests units to accelerate progress.

In which, the project to renovate the downstream Kim Nguu line connecting To Lich River with Yen So Pumping Station is completing clearance work. Hanoi City sets a target to complete the downstream Kim Nguu project connecting To Lich River with Yen So Pumping Station and Phu Do regulating lake in August 2026.
