Quang Tri - In the early days of 2026, the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains recorded many positive signs when continuously discovering artifacts engraved with names.

On January 24, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province confirmed that it is coordinating with the Military Command of Quang Tri province to verify and clarify the identities of the remains of martyrs who have just been repatriated.

Previously, on the morning of January 22, during a search in Trai Ca village (Dakrong commune, Quang Tri province), Team 584 under the Military Command of Quang Tri province discovered a martyr's remains accompanied by artifacts with information "TRAN VAN SIEU; 3/3 (or 8/8)".

Through initial review, the whole country currently has 4 martyrs named Tran Van Sieu, from Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa, Bac Ninh and An Giang.

Previously, on January 20, also in this area, Team 584 collected a set of martyrs' remains along with many artifacts, including a piece of paper engraved with the name "NGUYEN MINH THUAN 3/3". According to initial statistics, the whole country has 9 martyrs named Nguyen Minh Thuan, from many localities such as Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thai Nguyen, Quang Binh (now Quang Tri), Nam Dinh, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.

According to the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province, the unit has coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to review the list provided by Division 304. Initial information shows that documents show that the burial area was formerly called Ong Nhiem village, where the martyrs sacrificed on May 7, 1970. In this list, there are both names Nguyen Minh Thuan and Tran Van Sieu, coinciding with the information on the newly discovered artifact.

In addition to the above two cases, the search force also discovered a martyr's remains with a pen engraved with the words "VUONG CHI CAO" along with pigeon, coconut tree and turtle tower motifs. Through review, no martyrs have been recorded with this name; initial assessment is that this may be the name of a relative or a special memory of a martyr.

It is known that when the information is clarified, the functional agencies of Quang Tri province will have an official conclusion.

Since January 9, Team 584 has collected 5 sets of martyrs' remains in Trai Ca village, including 3 sets of remains containing information. In the afternoon of January 21, Ms. Le Thi Thanh - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Deputy Head of Steering Committee 515 of Quang Tri province directly came to the scene to encourage the forces on duty.

Despite the rugged mountainous terrain and harsh weather, officers and soldiers of Team 584 still persistently stick to the area, meticulously searching for each location, with the desire to soon find, gather, and bring the martyrs who sacrificed for the Fatherland back to their motherland and families.
