On the morning of November 2, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Lo Thi Tra My - Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Xa Luong Commune, Tuong Duong District (Nghe An) said that the authorities are still trying to find two missing students suspected of drowning in the area.
Initial information, at around 5:00 p.m. yesterday, November 1, people in Lo village (Xa Luong commune) went to the bank of Nam Mo river and discovered the clothes of 2 students left on the river bank.
Suspecting that the children were swimming in the river and were swept away, people quickly reported it to local authorities.
Authorities and the family confirmed that the two sets of clothes found on the shore belonged to K.B.T. (8 years old, son of Mr. K.V.C.) and L.A.T. (8 years old, son of Mr. L.V.K.) - third graders, both residing in Xa Luong commune. The families currently do not know where these two children are and cannot contact them.
"After receiving the news, the District People's Committee mobilized military forces, police, and authorities of Xa Luong commune and Thach Giam town to search since last night. As of 10:30 today, the children have not been found yet," said Ms. Lo Thi Tra My.
