Intersection IC 12 Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway
IC12 is the last intersection of phase I, Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway project at km 114 + 100, in Bao Hung commune, Tran Yen district, Yen Bai province.
This is a project of special importance in connecting Yen Bai city with Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway.
The project started in May 2014 with a total investment of 72.8 billion VND.
After 12 months of construction, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) has completed and put the interchange into use, ensuring the connection between Yen Bai City and Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway.
At the same time, it creates conditions for Yen Bai to easily connect with the Capital, the Red River Delta and provinces in the Northwestern mountainous region.
Mr. Tran Thanh Lam (42 years old, Yen Ninh, Yen Bai city) said that since the project came into operation, people's travel has been more convenient.
"Remembering in 2013, from Lao Cai to Yen Bai, I often had to travel on National Highway 4E and National Highway 70, which was very time-consuming. When the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway comes into operation, I only need to get off at IC 12 intersection, and I can save a lot of time when getting to the city center," said Mr. Lam.
Intersection IC 13 Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway
11km away, the IC13 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (section Km 122 + 240) in Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city was approved and adjusted by the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee on August 19, 2021 and October 7, 2022, with a total investment of 302.8 billion VND.
The project started construction in March 2023, constructed by a consortium of Hanoi D&T Construction Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company - 307 Quang Phu Joint Stock Company - Elcom Technology - Telecommunication Joint Stock Company.
Once completed, the project is expected to make travel from the provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc... to some localities of Yen Bai such as Tran Yen, Yen Bai city and western districts and towns such as Van Chan, Nghia Lo, Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai more convenient.
According to Lao Dong's report on October 3, dozens of workers and machines at the IC 13 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai highway are still working hard to bring the project on schedule.
Ms. Dao Thi Hoa (39 years old, Minh Tien, Tran Yen) said she hopes that IC 13 intersection will be completed soon.
"If I go from IC 12, it takes me about 30-45 minutes to get home. If IC 13 is completed, the time to get home will be greatly reduced," Ms. Hoa shared.
Since its inauguration, the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway has helped reduce travel time between Hanoi and Lao Cai from 7 hours to 3.5 hours, and from Hanoi to Yen Bai to just over 2 hours; at the same time, it has also halved travel time between the provinces: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, etc.
Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway runs through Yen Bai province, 83km long with 4 intersections: IC12, IC13, IC14 and IC15.
Currently, two intersections IC12 and IC14 have been completed, the remaining two intersections are under construction to make the transportation of goods and travel of people more convenient.
