According to Lao Dong's report on September 24, under the scorching sun, dozens of workers and machines at the IC 13 intersection construction site of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway are still working hard to bring the project on schedule.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thien (42 years old, Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city) said that he hopes that when the project is completed, traveling will become easier, especially connecting with major economic centers such as Hanoi.
"The completed project will help reduce travel time, save on freight costs and enhance economic exchange between localities," said Mr. Thien.
IC13 Interchange Project of Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (section Km 122 + 240), located in Au Lau Commune, Yen Bai City. The project was approved and adjusted by the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee on August 19, 2021 and October 7, 2022, with a total investment of VND 302.8 billion.
The project started construction in March 2023, constructed by a consortium of Hanoi D&T Construction Investment Consulting Joint Stock Company - 307 Quang Phu Joint Stock Company - Elcom Technology - Telecommunication Joint Stock Company.
Once completed, the project is expected to make travel from the provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc... to some localities of Yen Bai such as Tran Yen, Yen Bai city and western districts and towns such as Van Chan, Nghia Lo, Tram Tau, Mu Cang Chai more convenient.
According to the design, the project includes 2 main items.
IC13 intersection includes: main branch road system (branch A) and 4 branches (B, C, D, E) connecting branch A with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway at Km 122 + 240.
Branch A is 0.5km long, roadbed width 23.5m; branches B, C, D, E have a total length of 1.5km, roadbed width 8m.
Speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on September 24, a representative of the Yen Bai Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit is currently striving to bring the project to the finish line and into operation soon.
"The project is expected to be completed in early 2025," said the representative.
IC13 Interchange (Km 122 + 240) is located about 9.4km from IC12 Interchange.
At present, to get to Yen Bai city center, people get off at IC12 intersection and need to go about 10km more.
