According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station, a low pressure area has appeared in the central East Sea. At 1:00 p.m. on August 15, the low pressure area was located at about 13.5-14.5 degrees North latitude, 113.5-114.5 degrees East longitude. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the low pressure area will move slowly in the North-Northwest direction and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression.
Implementing the direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in Official Dispatch No. 5626/BNNMT-DD dated August 15, 2025, the City Civil Defense Command has issued a document requesting the Civil Defense Commands of localities, sectors, agencies and units to closely monitor warnings and developments of the low pressure area. From there, promptly notify captains and owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea to proactively prevent and adjust production plans, ensuring safety of people and property. At the same time, maintain communication to promptly handle possible bad situations.
The City Civil Defense Command also requires localities, sectors, agencies and units to prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when situations arise. Localities and units that organize on-duty committees should seriously and promptly report arising issues to the Department of Water Resources Management and Natural Disaster Prevention (Department of Agriculture and Environment) - the standing agency advising the City Civil Defense Command in natural disaster prevention and control for synthesis and direction of handling.
