Hai Phong issues official dispatch to respond to tropical depression in the East Sea

Hai Phong - On June 4, the City Civil Defense Command issued Official Dispatch No. 01/CD-BCH on responding to tropical depressions in the East Sea.

According to information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting and Hai Phong Hydrometeorological Station, by the evening of June 3, the low pressure area in the South and North of the East Sea had strengthened into a tropical depression. At 7:00 AM on June 4, the center of the tropical depression was at about 18.4 degrees North latitude; 116.6 degrees East longitude, over the sea east of the North East Sea area, about 500 km east-northeast of the Hoang Sa special zone.

The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression reached level 6, gusting to level 8; moving in the Northeast direction at a speed of about 25 km/h. Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will continue to move in the Northeast direction at a speed of about 20 km/h, the wind will maintain level 6, gusting to level 8.

Faced with the developments of the tropical depression, the Hai Phong City Civil Defense Command requested the Civil Defense Commands of departments, agencies, branches, agencies, units and coastal localities, including communes, wards, Bach Long Vi, Cat Hai, Nam Trieu, Thuy Nguyen, Dong Hai, Hai An, Duong Kinh, Do Son, Nam Do Son, Kien Hai, Hung Thang, Chan Hung to closely monitor weather forecasts and developments at sea.

Localities are required to strictly manage the operation of ships and boats, organize inventory, and promptly notify vehicle owners and captains of ships operating at sea about the location and direction of movement of the tropical depression to proactively prevent and avoid entering dangerous areas. At the same time, proactively move and anchor aquaculture cages and rafts in bays and riversides to safe places; maintain communication to promptly handle arising situations.

The City Civil Defense Command also requested units to be ready with forces and vehicles to deploy rescue and relief work when situations occur; strengthen information and propaganda about the diễn biến of the tropical depression so that people and vehicles operating at sea can proactively prevent and avoid.

Localities and units are assigned to organize serious and timely duty shifts to report arising issues to the city's standing agency for disaster prevention and control for synthesis and handling according to regulations.
