Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, tonight (June 3) the low pressure area in the eastern part of the East Sea has strengthened into a tropical depression. Wind intensity level 6, gusts level 8.
At 10 pm tonight, the center of the tropical depression is located at about 17 degrees north latitude - 115 degrees east longitude, about 270km east of the Hoang Sa Special Zone.
Forecast for the next 24 - 36 hours, the tropical depression will move in a northeast direction at a speed of about 10km/h, going out of the East Sea towards Taiwan (China).
The meteorological agency of Vietnam assessed that this tropical depression is unlikely to move towards the mainland of our country. The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting will continuously update warnings about impacts on ships and boats in sea areas in the next 24 - 48 hours.
Previously, the meteorological agency had forecast dangerous weather trends at sea in June. Accordingly, it is forecast that storms/tropical depressions are likely to appear in the East Sea area at a level equivalent to the average of many years in the same period. According to the average of many years, in June in the East Sea area there were 1.1 storms/tropical depressions and 0.3 storms made landfall in Vietnam.
