Voters in Dak Lak requested the Ministry of Transport to submit to the Government for consideration of investment in upgrading and expanding National Highway 26 from Buon Ma Thuot city to Khanh Hoa province and National Highway 27 from Buon Ma Thuot city to Lam Dong province.
Currently, the traffic volume on these highways is very high, especially during the harvest season, causing frequent congestion, causing difficulties for people when traveling.
Responding to this issue, the Ministry of Transport said that according to the road network planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, in Dak Lak province, National Highway 26 is about 119km long and National Highway 27 is about 88.5km long.
In particular, the sections through towns and the centers of some communes have been invested in upgrading and expanding with a road surface width of 12-17m; the rest are mostly small and narrow, with a road surface width of 5.5-7.5m.
The Ministry of Transport agrees with the proposal of voters of Dak Lak province on the necessity of investing in upgrading and expanding National Highway 26 and National Highway 27 according to the planning scale to meet the transportation needs and socio-economic development of Dak Lak province.
"However, due to resource difficulties, it is not possible to allocate capital to invest in the above national highways in the 2021 - 2025 period," the Ministry of Transport said.
The Ministry of Transport has acknowledged the voters' recommendations and will coordinate with the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee in the coming time to report to competent authorities for consideration and investment in renovating and upgrading National Highway 26 and National Highway 27 in the period of 2026-2030.
Recently, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to carry out maintenance and repair work in 2022, 2023, and 2024 with a budget of about VND 111 billion to ensure safe and convenient operation of the routes.
