On May 17, MAG's Bomb and Mines Disposal Team confirmed that after more than 40 days of clearing bombs and mines in Lai Binh village (Vinh Chap commune, Vinh Linh district) on an area of about 180,000m2, this unit had discovered 65 explosives, which were bombs and mines left over from the war.
Most recently, on May 15, the MAG Blasting and Mining December 15 Team discovered a bullet warehouse in Lai Binh village containing 18 explosives of various types, located only about 10cm from the ground.
The area where the 18 explosives were discovered is currently being used by people to grow cajuput trees.
It is known that in Quang Tri province, MAG's bomb and mine clearing activities are being implemented with support from the United States Department of State and the United States Embassy in Vietnam.
