On January 3, the leader of the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province said that the Department has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to repair and restore local roads damaged by the construction of the North-South Expressway project, the section passing through the province.
Through inspection, the provincial road system currently has 4 routes (DT629, 630, 636 and 638) that have been severely damaged due to the construction of the expressway project, with a total length of more than 105km. At the same time, the road system in the localities also recorded 56 routes that were severely damaged, with a total length of more than 66km.
One of the most severely damaged routes is the section Km1+00 - Km3+170 (DT629). This damage causes many difficulties for people in the area to travel.
According to the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh province, recently, the investor (Project Management Board 2, 85) has directed the construction unit to inspect, fix and repair damaged and degraded routes during the construction of the North-South expressway project.
However, the work of repairing and overcoming this situation has not been done promptly, is still sketchy, hasty, and in many cases is still formal, not meeting quality requirements.
In addition, prolonged rainy weather has made construction routes "more seriously ill", seriously affecting people's travel and daily life. In some areas, traffic accidents tend to increase.
To ensure traffic safety and facilitate people's travel during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Transport requests the Provincial People's Committee to recommend the Ministry of Transport to direct investors to immediately repair the damage and complete repairs before January 15.
At the same time, clarify the responsibility of each relevant unit and individual if there is a traffic safety incident, delay in repair, causing public outrage.
Assign competent agencies and professional officers to closely coordinate with investors, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, units and localities to develop plans to repair and restore damaged routes due to the construction of the expressway project.
Require the investor to be the unit coordinating with departments, branches and localities to resolve existing and arising problems during the construction process, not assigning all responsibility to the construction units.
