HCMC - Regarding the merger of wards, Tan Binh District, District 12 (HCMC) has proposed 2 options to the People's Committee of HCMC.

Regarding the arrangement of wards in the area, Tan Binh District (HCMC) has proposed 2 options to the HCMC People's Committee.

With option 1, Tan Binh district proposed to arrange 15 wards into 3 wards.

Tan Son Nhat Ward was established on the basis of merging 5 wards: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

Bay Hien Ward was established on the basis of merging 7 wards: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.

Tan Binh Ward was established on the basis of merging 3 wards: 13, 14, 15.

With option 2, Tan Binh district proposed to arrange 15 wards into 4 wards.

Tan Son Nhat ward was established on the basis of merging 4 wards: 1, 2, 3, 5.

Bay Hien Ward was established on the basis of merging the 4 wards: 9, 10, 11, 12.

Tan Binh Ward was established on the basis of merging 4 wards: 4, 6, 7, 8.

Bau Cat ward was established on the basis of merging 3 wards: 13, 14, 15.

Tan Binh District leaders said that in the two proposed options, the district hopes to approve option 2 (arrange 15 wards into 4 wards, reduce 11 wards).

Tan Binh District currently has 15 wards, with a population of 466,671 people and a total area of 22.39 km2.

The People's Committee of District 12 has just submitted a document to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Home Affairs proposing a plan to arrange and demarcate commune-level administrative units. District 12 currently has an area of 5,277 hectares, with 11 wards and 339 neighborhoods. Implementing the policy of streamlining the apparatus, District 12 proposed two options to merge wards. However, with a population of nearly 800,000 people, the arrangement into 3 wards causes great pressure, so the district proposes to arrange into 4 wards.

Option 1 is to arrange 11 wards to 3 wards.

Merge Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay wards into Tan Thoi Nhat ward.

Merging Hiep Thanh, Thoi An, Tan Thoi Hiep, Tan Chanh Hiep wards into Tan Thoi Hiep ward.

Merging Thanh Xuan, An Phu Dong and Thanh Loc wards into An Phu Dong ward.

Option 2 is to arrange 11 wards to 4 wards.

Merge Tan Thoi Nhat, Tan Hung Thuan, Dong Hung Thuan, Trung My Tay wards into Tan Thoi Nhat ward.

Merging Tan Thoi Hiep and Tan Chanh Hiep wards into Tan Thoi Hiep ward.

Merging Hiep Thanh ward and Thoi An ward into Thoi An ward.

Merging Thanh Xuan, An Phu Dong and Thanh Loc wards into An Phu Dong ward.

Previously, Go Vap District proposed to arrange 12 wards into 3 wards with the names An Nhon, Thong Tay Hoi and Go Vap.

Phu Nhuan District proposed to reduce from 11 wards to 2 wards with the names Phu Nhuan and Duc Nhuan.

Binh Thanh District proposed to arrange 15 wards to 4 wards and name the new wards as Gia Dinh, Binh Hoa, Thanh My Tay, Binh Quoi.

Binh Chanh District proposed to arrange 16 communes into 4 communes.

Thu Duc City proposes 2 options: keep Thu Duc City as a grassroots level directly under Ho Chi Minh City or reduce from 34 wards to 9 wards.
