On November 1, local people discovered many clumps of blood cockles washing up on the shore of Quang Tho ward (Ba Don town, Quang Binh province). Hundreds of people then went to the beach to harvest the "heavenly gift".
The location of the blood cockles washed ashore is in Tho Don residential area with a length of about 1km. People use sacks, plastic pots, baskets… to go to the sea to collect them.
Mr. Doan The (57 years old, Tho Don residential group) said that after 2 hours of picking with a net, he collected about 50kg of blood cockles.
Hundreds of people went to the beach to pick it up. In the morning, one family got 4 sacks, about more than 100kg.
Because the price of blood cockles is not high, most people only keep them for themselves or for relatives.

Blood cockles rarely wash up on local shores, only during rough seas or after storms.
Not only appearing in Quang Tho ward, in the coastal area of Don Sa and Dien Phuc residential groups (Quang Phuc ward), from yesterday, October 31 and today, November 1, people also won tons of blood cockles.
