On the morning of November 19, information from Hoang Mai District Police (Hanoi) said that professional units are investigating the cause of the fire at the warehouse in alley 115/35 Dinh Cong (Hoang Mai District), which occurred on the night of November 18.
Accordingly, at around 10:26 p.m. on November 18, the authorities received a fire report. Hoang Mai District Police then dispatched 2 fire trucks, 1 water tanker, and 1 pickup truck to the scene to put out the fire.
Due to the complexity of the fire, Hai Ba Trung District Police mobilized 2 fire trucks, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 2 mobilized 2 fire trucks, 1 vehicle and the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 5 mobilized 2 fire trucks to coordinate.
On-site forces such as inter-family groups, civil defense, grassroots fire fighting team, Dinh Cong ward police, Thinh Liet ward police and local people... organized initial fire fighting.
Police determined that the fire area of about 250 square meters belonged to Hung Nam Cuong Interior Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, which rented the premises from Railway Transport Services Joint Stock Company.
The warehouse and workshop area of the Railway Transport Service Joint Stock Company has an area of about 800m2, a 1-storey building with brick walls and corrugated iron roof.
Because there were many plastic items and toys inside such as ball houses, plastic balls... the fire flared up fiercely and spread quickly, making firefighting difficult.
After many hours of efforts to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading, by 1:00 a.m. on November 19, the fire was basically extinguished. Authorities continued to spray water to cool the fire and prevent it from flaring up again.
The fire caused some adjacent warehouses to be scorched, affected by heat and smoke. Adjacent houses suffered heat and smoke damage to their walls.
Initial information, the fire did not cause any human damage, many assets from surrounding warehouses were moved out.
