Although there is a domestic water supply system, tap water does not come regularly, sometimes only once every few days, even in some areas there has been no tap water for more than a year, causing people to have to struggle in all ways.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien's family (residing in hamlet 12, Tung Son village, Gia Hung commune) said that her family has been using domestic water from the Lien Son domestic water supply station of the old commune for many years. However, for more than a year now, tap water has not entered the tank, her family has had to use well water for daily life.
For more than a year, there has been no tap water for domestic use, my family has to use well water and invest in an additional water filtration system to have clean domestic water. In the dry season, the well water is shallow and not enough for family living, we have to build a rainwater tank to get domestic water" - Ms. Hien shared.
The shortage of clean domestic water is also happening to hundreds of other households in hamlets 5, hamlet 12, hamlet 11... of Gia Hung commune. Most households here are having to use dug well water, even though the water source has a foul odor and is not hygienic.
According to people's reflections, for more than a year now, Lien Son domestic water supply station has deteriorated, water supply capacity has decreased, water output is low, and the pipeline system is degraded... causing water supply to no longer meet the living needs of the people.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Hoa - Chairman of Gia Hung Commune People's Committee - also admitted that the situation of clean domestic water shortage in some villages and hamlets in the Lien Son area is real.
This area used to belong to the old Lien Son commune, now Gia Hung commune. Currently, the Lien Son commune domestic water supply station has deteriorated and is not capable of supplying domestic water to 100% of households. The total number of water meters that households have installed is 1,583 meters, while only about 950 meters are operating.
The current Lien Son commune domestic water supply station no longer ensures the efficiency of exploitation, water supply is unstable, and does not meet the domestic water supply needs of the people. The Commune People's Committee has received many opinions and petitions from people about water shortages and weak water, affecting their daily lives. Many households do not have enough water for daily life and have to buy water" - Mr. Hoa said.
Also according to Mr. Hoa, currently in Gia Hung commune, Hoang Long Water Plant is being built on a large scale with a convenient location, ensuring stable and hygienic water supply for people, households are requesting to be connected to use water from Hoang Long Clean Water Plant.
We have issued documents requesting Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, Department of Construction, Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ninh Binh province to allow Gia Hung Commune People's Committee to connect and use water from Hoang Long Clean Water Plant to serve the living needs of the people.
At the same time, guiding the Gia Hung Commune People's Committee to carry out procedures related to the management and handling of public assets under the Lien Son Commune Domestic Water Supply Station. In the near future, we will organize a meeting of households to collect opinions and implement procedures to connect and use water from the Hoang Long Clean Water Plant" - Mr. Hoa added.
