On the morning of August 21, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded at the Ang Son Parish Church (Phat Diem Diocese) in Dai Son street, Tay Hoa Lu ward, Ninh Binh province, the police force cordoned off the scene, not allowing people to access the area inside. Outside the church, a large number of parishioners gathered to follow the incident.
Looking from the outside, the entire roof of the church was burned down, wood and tiles were scattered on the ground; many electrical equipment were burned and damaged; the corrugated iron roof was scorched, and the church tower was also seriously damaged.

People in Ang Son parish said that last night (August 20), when the families were having a meal, they suddenly discovered smoke billowing with a pungent smell. Running out to check, people panicked when they saw the church burning fiercely, so they immediately shouted, using buckets and basins to find a way to put out the fire. However, because the fire broke out on the roof at a high altitude, initial firefighting was difficult. People only had time to evacuate seats and some assets from the lower floor to the outside.
Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Hai - Head of Tay Hoa Lu Ward Police - said that the fire did not cause any casualties. Currently, functional forces are conducting scene examination to determine the cause of the fire and statistics of property damage.

As Lao Dong newspaper reported earlier, on the evening of August 20, a fire occurred at Ang Son Parish Church.
At the time of the incident, people discovered fire breaking out on the roof of the church. People shouted to put out the fire, but the fire spread quickly.
Immediately after that, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Ninh Binh Provincial Police were mobilized to the scene to participate in firefighting. The fire fighting force on duty encountered many difficulties due to the high-altitude fire area and the large fire area.
After that, it rained heavily, and the fire was controlled.
