In the afternoon of March 28, a truck carrying agricultural machinery suddenly caught fire while traveling on the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway, passing through Thuan Bac commune, causing black smoke to obscure visibility and prolonged traffic jams.

According to initial information, at about 2:45 pm on the same day, driver Vu Van Tam was driving a truck carrying agricultural machinery moving in the direction from Phan Thiet area to the northern provinces. When approaching Du Long intersection, the vehicle suddenly smoked.
Detecting the car fire incident, the driver quickly stopped the car, brought some necessary items, opened the door to escape and warned the vehicles behind.


A few minutes later, the fire broke out strongly, engulfing the rear of the car. A column of black smoke rose high, obscuring visibility, causing many vehicles traveling in the same direction to slow down and stop, leading to a congestion lasting more than 1km.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Khanh Hoa Police dispatched a fire truck, a tanker truck and 8 officers and soldiers to the scene to deploy fire fighting operations. By about 3:30 pm, the fire was completely controlled.
The fire did not cause any casualties. However, many goods on the truck were burned down, the vehicle was heavily damaged, and the rear trunk was burned to a frame. The driver is counting the damage.

The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
