In 2022, the Can Tho City Oncology Hospital Construction Project (scale of 500 beds) with a total investment of more than 1,700 billion VND due to problems with Hungarian ODA loans, construction was stopped.

After gradually removing difficulties, in November 2025, the project was approved by the People's Council of Can Tho City in a resolution on adjusting the investment policy using domestic capital. This is the basis for implementing the next steps to restart the Project according to the direction of the Prime Minister and complete construction by the end of 2026.
According to the reporter's records, at this time, the inside of the project has changed compared to before - it has been cleaned quite well, some areas have been renovated.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Manh Tri - Deputy Director of Bach Dang 15 Construction Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (main contractor of Bach Dang Construction Corporation, a joint venture contractor of the project) - said that the unit has prepared a number of small auxiliary items while waiting for the official decision at the end of this month.

"We hope that when Can Tho City provides capital, we will be proactive and can start running immediately" - Mr. Tri said.
The unit added that with the assigned responsibility, it will be determined to complete the project and put it into operation soon, meeting the increasing demand for medical examination and treatment of Can Tho people and the Mekong Delta region.

It is known that the total adjusted additional investment in this project is about VND 344 billion due to exchange rate differences, bringing the total estimated capital to VND 2,071 billion.
