On the morning of December 11, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded that on National Highway 1, near the sand gathering areas along the Lam River in Bac Hong Linh Ward, sand was sprayed on the road.
Trucks that enter and leave the sandbanks and leave are also covered with tarpaulins more carefully, and the vehicles are cleaner than before.

Mr. Tran Xuan Duc - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Hong Linh Ward - said that on the afternoon of December 10, the People's Committee of the Ward and the Police of Bac Hong Linh Ward worked with 4 sand gathering yards owners in the area and representatives of the Traffic Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police.
The working content aims to rectify the situation of many trucks carrying sand from the gathering areas along the Lam River in the area, causing sand to be scattered on National Highway 1 due to overloading into boxes, poor tarpaulin covering, and spraying clean vehicles before leaving the yard.
"At the meeting, the sand gathering site owners committed to overcoming the shortcomings to prevent sand from spatting on the road. When there is a spillway, it is necessary to promptly water and clean it. The Traffic Police also affirmed that they will increase patrols, control, and handle vehicles that violate the law and transport too much sand into boxes to scatter sand," Mr. Duc shared.
Also according to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Hong Linh Ward, the Inspectorate has recently inspected the operations of sand gathering areas in the area. These landfills all have operating licenses. However, in the coming time, the People's Committee of Bac Hong Linh Ward will continue to conduct a general inspection so that if violations are detected, they will be resolutely handled and recommended to be handled in accordance with regulations.
A sand gathering site owner in Bac Hong Linh ward said that after Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Stock of trucks carrying excess goods into bins, sand scattered on National Highway 1", the Traffic Police increased patrols and controls of vehicles carrying excess goods into bins; the authorities of Bac Hong Linh ward also worked with sand gathering site owners.

In recent days, the use of tankers to water and clean sand scattered on the road has been carried out. At the same time, sand gathering site owners also require trucks when entering to transport sand not to carry it in the container, to spray the vehicle cleanly, cover with tarpaulins, and be careful before leaving the site to avoid spreading sand on the road.
Previously, on December 5, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "A fleet of trucks carrying over the boxes and sand scattered on National Highway 1" reflecting that recently every day, hundreds of trucks have come to the sand gathering areas along the Lam River (formerly in Xuan Lam Commune, now in Bac Hong Linh Ward) to transport sand, then spread it in different directions to bring sand to construction sites.
It is worth mentioning that trucks entering the sand gathering areas are too full into the bins, so when moving, the sand splashes for a whole kilometre on National Highway 1, causing dust in the sunny weather and slippery rain, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
The incident has greatly affected people living near the sand gathering areas. They hope that the authorities will inspect and rectify the situation of trucks carrying sand and scattered on the road.
