As of 1:00 p.m. on December 10, 2025, according to an update from Vietnam Electricity Group, Son La Lake, the upstream water level reached 214.76m, 0.24m lower than the normal rising water level. The water flow to the lake is at a high level of 1,229 m3/s and is completely discharged through the plant to generate electricity, without opening the spillway.
Hoa Binh Lake recorded a flow of up to 1,746 m3/s; the total discharge was 1,170 m3/s, all through the plant. The upstream water level reached 116.02m, still 1m below the normal rising water level. All deep and surface discharge gates are closed.
Upstream, Lai Chau Lake is at an elevation of 294.12m, nearly the same as the normal water level. The reservoir discharged 354 m3/s through the factory, without overflow. Meanwhile, the two stairs of Ban Chat and Huoi Quang continue to maintain low water levels, do not generate electricity and do not discharge.
Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 119.6m, 0.4m lower than the normal water level. The flow is up to 82 m3/s but the total discharge is up to 184.99 m3/s - all through the plant to generate electricity. The lake does not open the spillway.
Thac Ba Lake maintains water levels at 57.87m, 0.13m lower than the normal water level. The flow is up to 165 m3/s and the discharge is 64.89 m3/s, all through the factory. The lake does not open the door for deep discharge or facial discharge.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on December 10, the Northern region will have scattered fog and light fog in the early morning, and sunny afternoons. Cold at night and morning, some mountainous areas are very cold.
The area of Hue city and the South Central Coast will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places will have very heavy rain.
The Southern region will have rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.
