National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has signed and promulgated the National Assembly's Resolution on the establishment of Dong Nai city, effective from today (April 30), Dong Nai officially operates the urban government model of Dong Nai city; at the same time, converting the model of 10 communes to wards including: Long Thanh, Trang Bom, Nhon Trach, Tri An, Dau Giay, Tan Phu, Xuan Loc, Loc Ninh, Tan Khai, Dong Phu.
According to the People's Committee of Dong Nai City, on the morning of April 30, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai City were assigned to attend the ceremony to announce the resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee establishing the above 10 wards.
Leaders of Dong Nai City People's Committee requested that from 0:00 on April 30, relevant agencies, units, and localities operate in a new state. When converting the management model from provincial to city level, from commune to ward level, it must ensure smooth, continuous, and effective operation.
On the day of going to the city, Dong Nai plans to organize many cultural and artistic activities and fireworks displays and celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026) including art performances taking place in Tran Bien ward, Binh Phuoc ward.
At 9 pm on April 30, Dong Nai city organized high-altitude fireworks displays to celebrate commemorative activities in Tran Bien ward, Binh Phuoc ward and Dai Phuoc commune; at the same time, in 10 new wards of Dong Nai city, low-altitude fireworks displays were simultaneously organized for 15 minutes.
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, agencies, organizations, and units have been renamed to operate under the name Dong Nai city since the National Assembly's Resolution took effect.
