The road project surrounding the Chu Van An Memorial Area is implemented in the form of BT (build - transfer), including two main routes.
In which, route No. 1 (now Pham Tu road) with the starting point intersecting with Ring Road 3, the ending point connecting to road 70, more than 2.5km long, cross-section 53.5m wide, was opened to traffic in early 2020 after about 6 years of construction.
However, the end-of-route intersection component (Pham Tu - Road 70 intersection) with a total investment of nearly 786 billion VND had to stop construction from 2018 due to problems in site clearance.
It will not be until mid-2026 that localities complete site clearance and hand over to construction units to deploy the construction of the intersection.
According to the design, the Pham Tu - road 70 intersection will build a direct overpass with a length of more than 255m and build a complete traffic intersection between road No. 1 and road 70.
According to records, for the overpass construction package, some bridge piers have now revealed their shape. Many machines and workers have been mobilized by the contractor to implement the items.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the contractor Dat Phuong Joint Stock Company (the contractor in charge of overpass construction) said that the overpass item is being implemented by the contractor according to the set schedule.
The construction of the bridge item is favorable when the contractor has sufficient clean ground. Meanwhile, the deployment of the intersection item will be more complicated because it is also related to the relocation of technical infrastructure systems, including high-voltage power lines" - said the representative of the contractor Dat Phuong Joint Stock Company.
Pham Tu - Road 70 intersection has been a traffic hotspot of Hanoi for many years, every peak hour it is prolonged congestion, affecting the lives of people in the area.
Therefore, when the project was rebuilt, people living in the area were all happy.
Hopefully, the overpass and intersection items will be completed soon so that traffic can be convenient, and the lives of people around the area will also change" - Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung (56 years old, living in Thanh Liet ward) said.
It is expected that the Pham Tu - Road 70 intersection project will be completed by the end of 2026.
