Thanh Hoa - Heavy rain causes landslides, many cracks appearing hundreds of meters long on the hillside in Quan Son commune, causing 17 households to be urgently relocated.

On the evening of August 7, information from Quan Son Commune People's Committee, Thanh Hoa province said that heavy rain has caused landslides, threatening the safety of many households in the area.

From the early morning of August 6, heavy rain occurred in Quan Son commune, causing landslides and many large cracks on the positive slope, stretching hundreds of meters on the hillside. Faced with the risk of continued landslides, local authorities have urgently relocated 17 households with 60 people to safe places.

In Thanh Son village, the working area of the Social Policy Bank Transaction Office with 12 officials and employees is also being closely monitored by functional forces.

In addition, 8 households living along National Highway 217, passing through Thanh Son village, are identified as being in areas at high risk of landslides and are being monitored for timely handling plans.

Heavy rain also caused landslides at 2 points on National Highway 217. In which, at Km143+500, the section through Quan Son village, soil and rocks from the taluy slid down the road surface, causing traffic obstruction.

To ensure safety, Quan Son Commune People's Committee has coordinated with the Military Command and Commune Police to relocate households located in high-risk areas to safe places; and at the same time install warning signs at landslide points, monitor developments to promptly respond.
