On the morning of January 25, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Quyen, Chairman of the People's Committee of Anh Son District (Nghe An Province) said that initial support had been provided to the families of three workers of Song Lam 2 Cement Joint Stock Company who died in a work accident.
"In the immediate future, the locality will support each family with 10 million for burial arrangements, promptly visit and encourage the family, and the commune and village will directly support the family in burying the workers," said Mr. Hoang Quyen.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation Kha Van Tam also said that after receiving information about the death of 3 workers due to work accidents, the Provincial Labor Federation directed the District Labor Federation to visit, encourage and support the families.
"Tomorrow morning (January 26), the families will hold funerals. The delegation of the Provincial Federation of Labor will directly visit, express condolences and support 10 million VND/family" - Mr. Kha Van Tam said.
As Lao Dong reported, on the afternoon of January 24, a number of workers at Song Lam 2 Cement Joint Stock Company in Hoi Son commune (Anh Son district) were assigned to clean inside the factory.
At 3:15 p.m., workers Nguyen Huu Ng and Tran Van H were assigned by the factory to replace the air duct fabric. At that time, worker Thai Ba M cooperated with them.
While these 3 workers were working, a sudden cement mortar slip occurred, burying all 3 people and killing them on the spot.
The list of 3 deceased workers includes Nguyen Huu Ng (born in 1976) and Tran Van H (born in 1970, both residing in Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province); Thai Ba M (born in 1971, residing in Hoa Son commune, Anh Son district, Nghe An province).
It is known that in the above incident, besides the 3 dead workers, no one was injured.
After the incident, authorities are blocking off the scene to investigate and determine the cause of the accident.
Local authorities and Song Lam 2 Cement Joint Stock Company coordinated to visit, encourage, and support the families of the deceased victims in arranging funerals according to local customs.
