On the afternoon of January 17, the Provincial Police held a conference to assess the traffic order and safety situation after 15 days of implementing the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree No. 168/2024/ND-CP of the Government on administrative sanctions for violations in the field of road traffic.
After 15 days of implementing the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and Decree 168, violations such as not obeying traffic lights, driving on sidewalks, going the wrong way, and using alcohol while driving have decreased significantly.
Statistics from the whole province recorded 7 traffic accidents, killing 4 people and injuring 4 people. Compared to the same period, there were 6 fewer accidents, 2 fewer deaths and 9 fewer injuries.
The Traffic Police force arranged 421 patrol teams with 3,402 officers and soldiers participating, issued 1,364 fines totaling more than 5 billion VND, temporarily detained 632 vehicles and revoked 89 driving licenses.
According to the report at the conference, the Traffic Police force has issued 297 records of alcohol concentration violations with a fine of 1.6 billion VND, compared to the previous month, a decrease of 61 cases, equivalent to 17%.
In the speed control work, the authorities have drawn up 346 violation records and imposed fines of 897 million VND.
Regarding the act of expanding and overloading, the Traffic Police force issued 29 tickets and imposed a fine of 347 million VND. Compared to the same period last year, the number of tickets decreased by 19 cases (a decrease of 39.6%) and the amount of fines decreased by 1 billion 392 million VND (an 80%).
11 cases of road and lane violations were recorded.
Notably, violations of not having a driving license (GPLX) recorded 391 cases, a decrease of 92 cases compared to the previous period (down 19%) but an increase of 160 cases compared to the same period (up 69.26%).
Also during the past time, the Provincial Police Department coordinated with media agencies to produce 12 reports and 27 articles to promote the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. At the same time, 16 legal articles on traffic safety were posted on the unit's Facebook fanpage and social networking platforms.
