fish sauce business owner speaks out
After many days of investigation, the authorities have initially determined the origin of 1,000 bottles of fish sauce and dipping sauce that were secretly dumped in the Phu Ninh main canal area (Tam Thai commune, Phu Ninh district, Quang Nam province).

According to the confirmation of Mr. Le Hung Quang - Director of Thanh Hoa Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company (located in Thanh Hoa City, Thanh Hoa Province) - this item is a trial product produced by the company itself, and has expired since 2024.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter at noon on June 20, Mr. Quang said that the shipment of about 1,000 bottles of fish sauce and dipping sauce with the Kapok brand - is a new product line that the company is testing to launch on the market in 2023, aiming to explore the tastes of Southern consumers.
Due to the difference in taste, the product has a slightly salty, sweet taste - different from the traditional Thanh Hai fish sauce that the company originally distributed locally.

According to Mr. Quang, this trial shipment was not sold on the market but was only given to an agent in Phu Ninh district for exploration. However, market feedback was not positive, there were no further orders, so the company stopped production and destroyed inventories after only 1 month of exploration (around early 2024). Since then, the agency has not been distributing to the company.
dealers arbitrarily deposit expired shipments into the environment
The company director admitted that, in principle, the dealer must notify the company to recall or coordinate the destruction in accordance with regulations. However, instead of working according to the correct procedures, the dealer arbitrarily dumped expired shipments into the environment, causing public outrage and causing businesses to suffer consequences.
I feel very sorry for my product being handled like that. This is a test product, not a fake or poor quality product. However, illegal destruction is a major violation. Those who dump them must be responsible before the law" - Mr. Quang said.

When the theft of thousands of bottles of fish sauce was discovered, the thief contacted the company. The Company is also a party involved in this incident, because in reality the company could not sell this item. For more than a year now, this dealer has not taken the goods anymore.
Mr. Quang said that today, June 20, the authorities also announced the summons of business representatives to verify and clarify related information.
Previously, the authorities of Quang Nam province summoned 2 people involved in the act of illegally dumping fish sauce and are continuing to consolidate records and handle them in accordance with the provisions of law.
On the morning of June 19, the police and market management forces made a record of the scene, collecting thousands of products including fish sauce, dipping sauce and large amount of chili sauce - most of which have expired for several months to more than a year.
