On September 12, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province reported on the natural disaster situation and damage caused by storm No. 3 in the area (from September 6 to September 12).
Heavy rain and thunderstorms killed 7 people and injured 2 others. Of these, 4 people died due to landslides and burials in Da Bac district; 1 person in Cao Duong commune, Luong Son district drowned; 2 people died due to landslides in Kim Boi district.
Nearly 1,900 households in Luong Son, Cao Phong, Tan Lac, Mai Chau, Kim Boi, Lac Thuy, Yen Thuy, Lac Son, Da Bac districts and Hoa Binh city had to evacuate.
More than 7,300 hectares of rice, crops, fruit trees, annual and perennial trees were damaged; about 9,000 livestock and poultry died. 18 schools were affected (Luong Son district 6, Tan Lac district 4, Kim Boi district 2; Yen Thuy district 3, Lac Son district 2, Mai Chau district 1).
In addition, heavy rain also caused landslides on provincial roads at more than 200 locations with an estimated total volume of nearly 45,000m3 of earth and rock...
According to the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province, the impact of the recent storm No. 3 has caused a lot of damage to production, people's property, as well as public infrastructure in the province.
Faced with the current urgent need to quickly stabilize the lives and production of people in disaster-hit areas, the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province has proposed that the Prime Minister consider supporting a total budget of 616 billion VND.
Of which, financial support for housing restoration, agricultural and forestry production... with proposed funding (80% of damage value) of more than 87 billion VND; financial support for restoration of damaged works (62 works) of 353 billion VND; financial support for stabilizing residents in disaster areas of 175 billion VND.
