According to information from Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company, the company's products are present in 34 provinces and cities, more than 20 supermarket chains and hypermarkets nationwide, dozens of convenience store chains and more than 10,000 traditional retail points.
After the scandal of detecting more than 120 tons of pork contaminated with African swine fever in the cold storage of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company, from January 8, many large supermarkets in Hai Phong City and some provinces and cities have "withdrawn" all products of Ha Long Canned Food on shelves. Only a few convenience stores and retail stores are displaying products of this brand. Some stores then refund customers who have purchased Ha Long Canned Food products at their facilities or proactively stop selling products.
According to Lao Dong reporters' records, Ha Long Mart located right at the headquarters of Ha Long Canned Food Joint Stock Company (71 Le Lai, Hai Phong) has been closed silently for the past week. By January 13, large supermarkets such as Aeon, Go!... have not yet returned to selling Ha Long Canned Food products. At the canned food counter of Aeon supermarket, some pate and pork canned products of other brands are being discounted.

Previously, Hai Phong Department of Industry and Trade had directed after the incident at Ha Long Canned Food. Accordingly, to proactively implement measures to ensure food safety, protect the legitimate rights of consumers and businesses, and at the same time strengthen the responsibility of self-review in commercial business activities, the Department of Industry and Trade requests supermarkets and commercial business establishments in the city to proactively coordinate and exchange with goods suppliers to review legal documents, documents proving the origin, quality of products and goods being traded. At the same time, pay attention to inspecting and reviewing products subject to suspension of circulation and recall (if any) according to official information from competent authorities.
Units proactively monitor and update official information that has been verified on mass media to promptly inspect and review goods being traded. On that basis, implement appropriate measures according to regulations for products that do not fully meet food safety and origin conditions, in order to ensure consumer rights and the reputation of businesses.
The Department of Industry and Trade also requested units to strengthen internal self-inspection and supervision of food goods traded in the distribution system, contributing to risk prevention, and preventing the business of goods of unclear origin and quality not guaranteed according to the provisions of law.
From January 13th, Ha Long Canned Food Company announced the temporary suspension of production until January 28th. During this time, 650 company employees will still receive work stoppage salaries and are expected to still receive Tet bonuses for the 2026 Lunar New Year.
