Project to repair damaged roadbed, road surface and constructions on route Km127+501 - Km139+771, National Highway 2 avoiding Tuyen Quang city with a total investment of more than 55 billion VND. The project is invested by the Department of Transport of Tuyen Quang province.
The project was deployed from the beginning of June 2024, by the joint venture of contractors Van Xuan Construction and Equipment Materials Joint Stock Company - Hiep Phu Company Limited.
As of October 2, the repair section has been basically completed. The Ha Giang - Hanoi route has completed asphalt concrete. The contractor is painting lane markings and raising and repairing guardrails along the route.
In the opposite direction, at Km139, the contractor Van Xuan Construction and Equipment Materials Joint Stock Company is using specialized machinery to scrape and peel off the damaged road surface and construct asphalt concrete.
A worker at the project said that specialized machines are moved to the locations where the road surface is rutted and cracked and the surface layer is peeled off 5-10cm deep. It will then be reinforced and paved with asphalt concrete, which is a popular road surface repair technology today.
Before being repaired, nearly 10km of National Highway 2, Tuyen Quang City bypass, had many damaged spots, the road surface was deeply rutted, posing a potential risk to traffic safety. Previously, the maintenance unit had temporarily fixed the problem by scraping and reducing the rutting, but it was not able to completely fix it.
According to the project investor, the work of scraping and resurfacing the asphalt concrete surface has reached over 90% progress, with nearly 1km of the last route still under construction. Painting, marking and repairing auxiliary items on the route are also underway. Expected to be completed in December 2024.
