In addition, the province also reserves 100 tons of rice and 10 tons of instant noodles to prepare for storms.
Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training of Thua Thien Hue province announces: The Departments of Education and Training, Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers and units under the Department of Education and Training notify all teachers and students to take a day off on September 19 to prevent storms and floods.
Also on the night of September 18 and early morning of September 19, increased rainfall in Thua Thien Hue province caused some roads to be flooded. To proactively respond, many people raised their belongings and cars to high, safe places to avoid damage.
Previously, households living in areas at risk of landslides were also evacuated to safety by local authorities.
The Border Guard Command of Thua Thien Hue province has called for 1,884 vehicles/10,685 workers, all boats have entered safe anchorage (100%). Fishing boats from other provinces have entered anchorage: 23 vehicles/194 workers.
According to a quick report from the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of Phu Vang district, at 5:30 a.m. on September 18, 2024, a tornado occurred in Phu Ho and Phu Xuan communes, causing 1 person to be slightly injured and received first aid at Phu Ho medical station; Roofs and outbuildings of 12 households (8 Phu Ho households, 4 Phu Xuan households) were blown away.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Phu Vang district directed Phu Ho and Phu Xuan communes to direct forces to coordinate with villages and affected families to promptly carry out repairs.
