The investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line has its starting point at the railway connection point across the border in Lao Cai province, and its ending point at Lach Huyen station (Hai Phong City). The main line is about 390 km long, with nearly 28 km of branch lines, passing through 6 provinces and cities including Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen and Hai Phong. Preliminary total investment is more than 203.3 trillion VND.
In Hung Yen province, the line is about 16.7 km long, starting point in Lac Dao commune and ending point in Thuong Hong ward. The route direction is determined to ensure compliance with railway industry standards and regulations according to the investment policy approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 187/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025.
According to the plan, from Trung Mau station (Hanoi), the line after crossing the Duong River will descend to the ground, arranging Kim Son station, and at the same time go in the direction of avoiding Pho Noi A Industrial Park and the existing Lac Dao station of the Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.
The project through Hung Yen is expected to arrange 1 station in Dai Dong commune, with the function of a mixed station serving both passengers and goods. The total recovered land area is about 83.5 ha. Up to now, localities have proactively prepared conditions to implement compensation, support, and resettlement for affected households.
According to the Hung Yen Provincial Department of Construction, the Department has agreed on the route plan, the scale of traffic connection to the station, cargo yard and station square belonging to component project 1.
Along with that, Hung Yen province has promoted propaganda and widespread information to people in the project area about the expected land clearance scope, in order to avoid new construction on land located in the plan.
Management work is also strengthened to prevent illegal construction, policy profiteering, and ensure stable life and security and order in the locality.
