On September 17, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting of the Provincial People's Committee to review the development plan for sectors and functions in the Hung Yen Provincial Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (adjusted).
According to the report on the results of reviewing and updating the contents and plans to adjust the Provincial Plan of the consulting unit, the province's development space is identified as including 3 functional zones: the Northern dynamic zone, the central zone and the coastal zone; national, regional and inter-provincial development corridors; development axes including 3 vertical axes, 4 ring road axes and the highway axis CT. 08.
The report also updates the forecast of population size associated with the ability to develop urban infrastructure in each period; and at the same time proposes development plans for key industries and fields.
In which, the industrial development plan includes 66 industrial parks with a total expected area of about 23,068.5 ha and 125 industrial clusters with a total area of 7,920.12 ha. Regarding transportation, the planning plan identifies 6 horizontal axes, 3 vertical axes, 4 railway lines and roads connecting Hung Yen with Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh.
The port and logistics center system is oriented to develop with 27 cargo ports, including 14 ICD shallow ports and 16 logistics centers.

For Thai Binh Economic Zone, the report identifies development orientations according to an integrated, multi-sectoral, multi-field model, focusing on high-tech products, digital technology, innovation and modern services, gradually meeting the development requirements of the special economic zone.
In addition, plans for developing solid waste management systems, cemeteries, clean water supply centers, and electricity are also reviewed, ensuring compliance with the development orientation of the province's 3 functional areas.
Also at the meeting, delegates listened to and gave opinions to discuss the general planning idea of Hung Yen urban area to 2050, with a vision to 2070. Delegates focused on exchanging and agreeing on a plan to adjust the location and functions at Pho Hien University Area, ensuring synchronization with the general development orientation of the province.
Speaking to direct at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen emphasized that the Hung Yen Provincial Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (adjusted) is of great significance for the province's socio-economic development orientation in the short and long term. Therefore, the process of building and completing the plan must be carried out strictly, thoroughly, scientifically, ensuring synchronicity and feasibility.
Regarding the idea of general planning of Hung Yen urban area to 2050, vision to 2070, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen acknowledged and highly appreciated the ideas and proposals of the consulting unit.
He emphasized that the goal of striving to make Hung Yen a centrally-run city before 2030 is a major orientation, requiring planning work to be studied on a comprehensive scale, effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the province and placing Hung Yen in a linked relationship with localities in the Capital region, the key economic region of the North, the Red River Delta region and neighboring development poles.
