The People's Committee of Binh Duong province held a meeting to discuss the mobilization of resources to build a road along the Saigon River.
Regarding this issue, the Department of Construction has implemented a project to mobilize resources to build a road along the Saigon River with an orientation for implementation in the period of 2025-2030 and the period after 2030.
After consideration, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province unanimously approved this project. The People's Committee of Binh Duong province assigned relevant units to review the draft decision to submit to the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee for signing and promulgating.
After the project is approved, localities with the Saigon River flowing through will be assigned to coordinate with departments and branches to review and update relevant plans accordingly. At the same time, urgently propose plans to create land funds and investment plans in the areas. Prioritize projects connecting localities and important projects of the province to promote potential along the Saigon River road axis.
According to records, Binh Duong has nearly 100km along the Saigon River passing through localities such as Thuan An city, Thu Dau Mot city, Ben Cat city and Dau Tieng district. The Saigon River embankment is mainly a dirt dike. Currently, Thuan An and Thu Dau Mot cities are investing in short sections of the Saigon River.
Because transportation along the Saigon River has not been developed, the Saigon River area is still like a rural area, an underdeveloped urban area.
Binh Duong province is developing an investment project to build a road along the Saigon River. According to the project, the total length of the entire Saigon River road is nearly 100 km. This route will orient to connect with the parallel routes of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4, DT 744. At the same time, the riverside road will be a driving force for the development of a number of projects in the logistics industry such as the development of An Son port cluster, An Tay port cluster, Phu Cuong Thinh port...
The project calculates the implementation of 13.6 km of the Saigon River road passing through Thuan An city. The road is 32 m wide, with 6 lanes, following the existing Saigon River dike (from 20-40 m from the riverbank).
Construct a 16.7 km long Saigon River road through Thu Dau Mot city with a road width of 14-32 m.
The section through Ben Cat city is 27.9 km long with a road width of 28-36.5 m and the section through Dau Tieng district is 39.79 km long with a road width of 32 m.
