Transfer patient to Bach Mai Hospital
According to a quick report from Hospital E sent to the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health: At about 11:24 p.m. on December 18, 2024, Hospital E received a call from the 115 Emergency Center about a fire at Pham Van Dong, Co Nhue 2, Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi. Immediately, Hospital E dispatched an ambulance and an emergency team from another hospital to the scene of the fire.
At the same time, the hospital put the entire hospital on red alert. All staff on duty at the hospital were ready, focusing on providing emergency care at the emergency clinic for the victims transferred. All doctors and staff were mobilized.
The Emergency Department has prepared a number of emergency beds, intensive care beds, and operating rooms to receive victims when they arrive. The leaders of the Resuscitation, Operating Room, and Emergency departments notify all doctors (including those not on duty) to be ready when mobilized. The logistics departments: medicine, supplies, equipment, compressed air, electricity, water, etc. are alerted to check all logistics for mass emergency care.
At the scene, medical forces, including the E Hospital emergency team, urgently coordinated with the fire prevention, fire fighting and rescue forces of Hanoi City Police and other functional units to receive, provide first aid, and transport patients from the fire to the nearest medical facilities for timely emergency and treatment.
The hospital immediately reported the incident and the patients' condition to the leaders of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management of the Ministry of Health, and consulted with experts in the field of emergency resuscitation from leading hospitals. The leaders of the ministry immediately directed the highest concentration of human resources and equipment to provide the best treatment for the victims.
Right at the end of the morning of December 19, just a few hours after the night of the accident, after urgently receiving, treating and consulting with experts, the Board of Directors of E Hospital and experts in the field of resuscitation and anti-poisoning agreed to transfer the victims to the Intensive Care Center and the Anti-Poison Center of Bach Mai Hospital for continued monitoring and treatment, ensuring maximum focus on expertise and the best treatment means for the patients.
Mobilize good experts for treatment
On the morning of December 19, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long visited the victims of the fire who were being treated at Hospital E. Also visiting the patients were Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, leaders of departments and leaders of Bac Tu Liem district.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that this was a heartbreaking incident and that those who survived today were truly lucky. He also encouraged patients undergoing treatment to remain calm and follow the doctor's treatment regimen.
During the night shift, E Hospital mobilized all resources, medical equipment and consulted with leading Vietnamese experts to treat the lucky survivors. Hopefully everyone will recover soon.
Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and leaders of departments, agencies and Bac Tu Liem district visited and encouraged the victims of the fire who are being treated at E Hospital.
The working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Minister Dao Hong Lan and Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment, Dr. Ha Anh Duc, visited the hospital to directly visit the victims and their families, met with the Board of Directors and doctors of E Hospital, experts from Bach Mai Hospital, Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital, and Professor Nguyen Gia Binh - President of the Vietnam Association of Emergency Resuscitation and Anti-Poisoning - to provide the most positive treatment direction.
Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan visited each patient bed to visit each fire victim being treated at Hospital E. After listening to Dr. Nguyen Cong Huu - Director of Hospital E - quickly report on the situation of the 4 victims being treated at Hospital E, Minister Dao Hong Lan shared that the fire that occurred near Tet caused serious human losses that were extremely painful.
