On the afternoon of September 17, Mr. Le Tien Dung - Secretary of Gio Linh District Party Committee said that in response to the reflection that the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gio Linh District issued a document calling for donations with content stipulating a minimum contribution level, Gio Linh District Party Committee requested correction.
Previously, on September 12, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gio Linh district issued a document guiding the response to the call for support for people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
In the document, the mobilization level is given as "each cadre, civil servant, public employee, worker and armed forces officer in the district at least 200 thousand VND; each enterprise supports at least 1 million VND".
The inclusion of a minimum level of support in the text has caused many to disagree.
The Gio Linh District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee said that the above minimum contribution level was approved by the Gio Linh District Party Committee Standing Committee.
Mr. Le Tien Dung - Secretary of Gio Linh District Party Committee said that when the Front reported the fundraising campaign, they agreed with the policy. But when receiving feedback and reviewing, they found that the Front's document stipulating the minimum level for many subjects was unreasonable. So they requested to rectify and correct it immediately" - Mr. Le Tien Dung said.
After receiving instructions from Gio Linh District Party Committee, on the afternoon of September 17, the Gio Linh District Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee withdrew the document containing the minimum contribution level. And issued document No. 07/MTTQ-BTT guiding the response to the call for support for people in the northern provinces to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 to replace it. In this document, the content of the minimum contribution level was removed, replaced with the content of "mobilizing support according to goodwill".
It is known that at 1:30 p.m. on September 17, the Front Committee - Relief Committee of Gio Linh district received support from cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, organizations, individuals and people of Gio Hai and Trung Son communes with an amount of over 430 million VND, and was made public on the Relief - Charity and Social Security Portal of Quang Tri province.
