Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on October 3, Mr. Hoang Van Bien - Head of the Management Board of CT12B Apartment Building, Kim Van - Kim Lu Urban Area (Dinh Cong Ward, Hanoi) said that on the evening of October 2, the relevant parties had a meeting to discuss a compensation plan for the case of throwing sandals into the water valve that damaged the 2 elevators of this apartment building.
The meeting was attended by parents of the 3 young children, representatives of the government (residential group), the Building Management Board, the Management Board, and the elevator repair unit.

At the meeting, the family of the 3 boys involved in the incident pledged to be responsible for compensation and pay for all costs for repairing the elevator. The specific figures will be notified to families when the repair is completed.
Mr. Bien also denied the information about the cost of compensation and repair of elevators from 300 million VND to 2 billion VND spread online in recent days. According to him, false information has caused panic among residents and affected their lives.
Sharing more with reporters, Mr. Bien said that one of the two elevators ( put into use since 2014) has been repaired and operated normally since September 30. For the remaining elevator, the building management board requested the elevator repair unit to fix it soon so that residents can travel conveniently.
"They are waiting for components to import. It is expected that the elevator problem repair will be completed in the next week," said Mr. Bien.

As Lao Dong reported, on September 27, when 3 children were playing throwing sandals in the corridor of the 5th floor of CT12B building, suddenly a child threw them at the water valve of the automatic fire prevention and fighting system, causing foam water to splash onto the floor. After that, the 3 children ran away, while the water continued to flood strongly.
For about 5-7 minutes, from the time the fountain broke until residents discovered it, water flowed into the elevator, causing 2 out of 7 lifts to be damaged and had to temporarily stop operating.
Initial inspection showed that some buckets in the elevator were burned, while others had not yet determined the cause, showing signs of water intrusion.
After the incident, the Management Board and the Building Management Board invited the parents of the 3 young children and the manager to work down and make a verification record. At the meeting, all 3 families admitted that the incident stemmed from the children playing.
