On the morning of March 26, units under the Department of Health of Tuyen Quang province coordinated with Son Vi Commune People's Committee to organize the program "Free Universal Health Examination" for people in the area.
Participating in medical examinations for people are doctors and physicians from units: Ha Giang General Hospital, Ha Giang Traditional Medicine Hospital, Meo Vac Regional General Hospital, Meo Vac Regional Medical Center.
At the program, people were given general health check-ups with contents such as blood pressure measurement, cardiovascular check-ups, ultrasound, respiratory, ear-nose-throat. In addition to examinations, people in Son Vi border commune were also consulted and provided with free medicine.
Ms. Chao Thi Phin, Phe Than village, Son Vi commune said: "I am old, the road is far and difficult to travel, so medical examination at higher levels is very hard. Now that doctors come to the commune to examine and advise on my health condition, I am very happy.
Mr. Tran Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of Son Vi Commune People's Committee said that Son Vi is the most difficult and remote border commune of Tuyen Quang province with nearly 100% of the population being ethnic minorities.
Although people's health care work is always concerned, due to the specific conditions of the border highlands, access to quality health services is still limited. We have promoted propaganda and announced examination schedules to each village and hamlet so that people can actively participate," Mr. Hung informed.
The program is a practical activity, contributing to periodic health care for people in border areas. At the same time, it shows the concern of Party committees at all levels to care for community health, contributing to raising awareness, early detection of diseases, and reducing medical examination and treatment costs for people.
