On December 18, the People's Committee of Hue City announced that it had just issued an emergency construction order to handle the collapsed Hoang Thanh wall ( collapsed on November 4, 2025) due to the impact of natural disasters, ensuring safety for the relic and surrounding areas.
According to the decision, the collapsed wall is located in the north of the Imperial Citadel, adjacent to Dang Thai Than Street, about 180m east of Hoa Binh Gate, in the Imperial Citadel - Hue Imperial City area.
In terms of technical plans, the project will restore the collapsed Hoang Thanh wall with a length of more than 14m and an average height of about 4.3m. Along with that, the construction unit will reinforce, reinforce and support the neighboring walls of the collapsed area, to ensure security and safety for the relic as well as the people and tourists.
The total estimated cost for the project is about 2.2 billion VND. The implementation period shall not exceed 45 days from the date of issuance of the emergency construction order.
The People's Committee of Hue City assigned the Hue Monuments Conservation Center as the investor, responsible for managing and organizing the implementation of the project in accordance with regulations, technical requirements and set progress.
