Urgently relocate technical infrastructure, ensure the progress of the bridge across the Red River

Hanoi - The contractor requests the investor to urgently relocate technical infrastructure, ensuring the construction progress of a bridge worth more than 16,200 billion VND across the Red River.

The investment project to build Tran Hung Dao bridge was started on October 9, 2025.

The project includes 5 component projects, including 3 component projects for site clearance in Cua Nam, Hong Ha, Long Bien, Bo De, Hai Ba Trung wards and 2 component projects for construction: Component project 2 - investment in construction, renovation, and expansion of Co Linh - Hong Tien road at the intersection of Co Linh road and Tran Hung Dao bridge; component project 3 - investment in construction of Tran Hung Dao bridge according to public-private partnership (PPP) method, BT contract, paid by land fund.

Component project 3 - investing in the construction of Tran Hung Dao bridge has a total length of about 4.18km; starting point at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong; ending point connecting to Nguyen Son street.

The approach roads at both ends of the bridge have a total length of about 1.42km (about 0.30km from the city center, about 1.12km from Long Bien ward); complete construction investment at 3 intersections.

The preliminary total investment includes site clearance of about 16,226 billion VND (of which, the total investment of component project 3 is about 8,190 billion VND).

According to the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, the total land area recovered for the project is about 31.05ha. To date, the Board has received 29.43/31.05ha, reaching 94.78%.

Representatives of the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that for component project 3 - investing in the construction of Tran Hung Dao bridge, the investor has organized 17 construction teams.

To date, 128/128 bored piles for the main bridge part, 208/236 bored piles for the approach bridge part (Long Bien bank) and Co Linh overpass, 207/284 bored piles for the branch bridge have been completed; 6/7 main bridge pier platforms; 18/26 abutment platforms, piers and 14/26 abutment bodies, approach bridge piers on Long Bien side; 3/4 platforms, abutment bodies, piers (Co Linh overpass)...

The value of construction output to date reached 1,113/7,280 billion VND, equivalent to more than 15%.

Mr. Mai Minh Thang, Commander of Trung Chinh contractor, said that the contractor started bringing machinery and workers to the construction site from the beginning of June, after the works within the project area in Hong Ha ward were demolished.

However, the slow relocation of underground and above-ground infrastructure (Cua Nam ward area, Hai Ba Trung), especially high-voltage power lines, has affected the progress of Trung Chinh's construction package.

Mr. Thang requested the investor to accelerate the progress of technical infrastructure relocation, and soon hand over the site for contractors to deploy construction, ensuring the set progress.

Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure for bridge projects across the Red River, including Tran Hung Dao bridge, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Bui Duy Cuong requested units managing electricity, telecommunications, water supply, drainage and related units to implement on schedule.

Units that have received site clearance funds must be responsible for completing the relocation according to the plan; if delayed, affecting the project progress, they will be responsible to the city.

According to the plan, the investment project to build Tran Hung Dao bridge will be completed in the second quarter of 2027, before the APEC 2027 Conference, in case the entire site of the Ward People's Committees is handed over as committed.

When completed, Tran Hung Dao bridge will help reduce traffic pressure for the central area, reduce the load on existing bridges, so accelerating progress and completing early will reduce the load on Vinh Tuy bridge and Chuong Duong bridge.
