Last night and morning of June 1st, many areas in Khanh Hoa province experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy to very heavy rain in some places. The meteorological agency warned of the risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and localized flooding.
According to monitoring data, rainfall from 7 pm on May 31 to 7 am on June 1 in some places exceeded 40mm. In which, Van Binh 2 recorded 62.7mm, Da Ban 47.6mm, Ninh Son 45.7mm.
Forecast for the day and night of June 1st, Khanh Hoa province area will continue to have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is from 10-30mm, with some places over 50mm.
The meteorological agency assesses that thunderstorms are likely to occur with tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. These extreme weather phenomena can affect agricultural production, causing trees to fall, damage to houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
In addition, localized heavy rain is at risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides in steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
The warning level of natural disaster risk due to tornadoes, lightning and hail is determined to be level 1.
