On the morning of June 1, the National Press Award Council opened the final round of the 20th National Press Award - 2025, with 177 excellent works selected from 1,692 entries nationwide.
Speaking at the opening, Mr. Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Final Council - said that the number of authors, works and press agencies participating in the award continues to reach a high level, reflecting the widespread development of Vietnamese journalism.

Participating works come from many types of journalism, spanning from key national press agencies to local press agencies, remote and isolated areas. Many works clearly show the spirit of innovation, adapting to the trend of digital transformation and applying technology in journalistic activities.
According to the preliminary judging council's assessment, this year's season recorded the appearance of many multimedia articles using artificial intelligence (AI), big data (Big Data), data journalism and solution journalism. Many works are invested on a large scale, with modern expressions, showing that Vietnamese journalism is proactively approaching and harmonizing with the global technology flow.

The content of this year's works closely follows the major issues of the country. Prominent are the articles reflecting the revolution to streamline the organizational structure of the political system, the merger of administrative units, the implementation of the 2-level local government model and the organization of Party congresses at all levels for the term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th Party Congress.
In addition, many works focus on reflecting hot issues of public concern such as combating smuggling, trade fraud, tax evasion, fighting major corruption cases, handling dirty food, strengthening land management and removing bottlenecks in the economy.

Many works have gone deep into analyzing, providing specific evidence, reflecting the effectiveness of guidelines and policies being implemented in practice, and at the same time proposing many solutions to improve the effectiveness of social governance.
In addition to investigative works and reports reflecting downsides and negative issues that need to be rectified, this year's season also recorded many works rich in humanity. These are notes and portraits of successful Vietnamese people at home and abroad, stories about workers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and managers expressed with a fresh perspective, creating a positive spread in society.

In particular, the two categories of Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism are assessed to have made outstanding developments. Many works are elaborately invested, applying diverse modern technology, effectively exploiting digital platforms, creating new experiences for the public, including many works by Lao Dong Newspaper.
According to the Final Council, the National Press Award not only honors outstanding works but also recognizes the efforts and contributions of individuals and collectives working in journalism.
This is also a measure reflecting the development of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, a source of encouragement for journalists to continue to maintain professional bravery, constantly innovate, be creative and contribute to the interests of the country and people.
