Common rainfall is from 20-50mm, some places have high rainfall such as Ninh Thuong 99.6mm, Hoa Son Lake 70mm, Suoi Dau Lake 59mm.
Forecast from September 23 to 24, Khanh Hoa will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall is commonly from 50-130mm/period, in some places over 170mm/period. Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns of the risk of heavy rain, over 100mm in 3 hours.
From the night of September 24, rain in the province tends to decrease, locally with moderate rain and thunderstorms. Common rainfall is from 10-30mm, in some places over 50mm.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas. In particular, it is necessary to prevent the risk of landslides in areas with steep terrain and weak geological foundation.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds can also cause roofs to be blown off, trees to break and fall, and injure people and livestock.
Regarding the flood situation on rivers, in the past 24 hours, the water level on rivers and streams in Khanh Hoa has changed little or fluctuated slightly.
At 7:00 AM on September 23, the water level of the Dinh Ninh Hoa River at Ninh Hoa Hydrological Station was at 3.23m, 0.97m lower than alarm level 1.
On the Cai Nha Trang River at Dong Trang Hydrological Station, the water level is at 3.11m, 4.89m lower than alarm level 1. Meanwhile, the Cai Phan Rang River at Tan My Hydrological Station has a water level of 33.47m, 2.03m lower than alarm level 1.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station warns that from September 23 to 25, there is a possibility of a small flood below alarm level 1 on rivers in the province; especially the Dinh Ninh Hoa River is likely to rise to near alarm level 1.
The meteorological and hydrological agency should prevent the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas; rain and floods affect the safety of reservoirs and cause flooding in low-lying areas, riverside areas, and urban areas in the province.
