On September 26 and 27, the People's Court of Khanh Hoa province held sessions to consider reducing the prison sentence for prisoners serving prison sentences, on the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Accordingly, the prisoners are considered cases serving sentences at Prison A2 and Song Cai Prison under the Department of Police for Prison Management, Compulsory Education facilities, and reform schools - Ministry of Public Security
Based on research on records, documents, and legal regulations, the Reduction Council decided to reduce the prison sentence for 700 prisoners.
Of which, 306 prisoners serving their prison sentences at A2 Prison had their sentences reduced by 2 months to 20 months in prison (259 prisoners) and the prisoners had their prison terms reduced (47 prisoners).
394 prisoners serving their prison sentences at Song Cai Prison had their sentences reduced. Of which, 76 prisoners have reduced their prison terms, 318 prisoners have reduced their prison terms from 1 month to 22 months.
Cases with reduced sentences at detention facilities are classified as having met prison sentences of at least 1 year, being repentant, and actively remedying the consequences of their crimes.
The reduction of the prison sentence implementation period is implemented strictly, fairly, in accordance with the provisions of law, ensuring democracy and objectivity.
