The working delegation of Military Region 7 coordinated with units and local authorities to survey the ground on the campus opposite an international hospital in the Cau Ong Bo intersection area, Lai Thieu ward.
According to information collected, in the Go Cat - Lai Thieu area (now belonging to the Go Cat area, Dong Nhi neighborhood, Lai Thieu ward, Ho Chi Minh City) during the resistance war in the years 1971-1972, there were trucks carrying the bodies of revolutionary cadres and soldiers who sacrificed to be buried in many collective pits here.
Currently, it is suspected that there is a mass grave around the park and the area opposite the international hospital near Cau Ong Bo intersection, Lai Thieu ward.
The survey team met and exchanged with witnesses and long-time residents to collect, compare, and verify relevant information.
In the coming days, the delegation will continue to learn and collect more information from members of the veterans association, militia guerrillas, officers who participated in combat in the area, relatives of martyrs and people who used to live here. At the same time, carefully review this area, compare historical documents, as well as radar data across the land. Thereby, to serve the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains.
