On July 13, Hai Phong City Police organized a ceremony to commend the City Police delegation for excellently completing the tasks of humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, and overcoming the consequences of the earthquake disaster in Venezuela.
Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee and Major General Bui Quang Binh, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Director of the City Police attended, directly awarded prizes and encouraged the soldiers.
The double disaster that occurred in Venezuela on June 24, 2026 has caused thousands of casualties and missing people. Implementing the urgent dispatch order of superiors, Hai Phong City Police sent 10 elite officers and soldiers of the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PC07) - who had undergone in-depth training abroad - to participate in Vietnam's international rescue delegation. Just 2 hours after receiving the telegram, the soldiers set off overnight to the neighboring country with the spirit of taking advantage of every hour and every minute.
From June 29 to July 9, the delegation divided into many teams, sticking to work continuously from 6 am to 8 pm, many days working overnight in harsh weather. Hai Phong forces bravely crawled tens of meters deep under collapsed 15-20 story buildings to search for victims.
As a result, the delegation directly removed 57 bodies, located 46 other locations to help local forces find 38 more bodies; and at the same time established a medical station for medical examination, allocated meals and raised funds to support nearly 600 kg of necessities for people in disaster-stricken areas. With these great contributions, all 10 soldiers were honored to be awarded the "Hero of Venezuela" Medal by the Government of the friendly country.

At the ceremony, Chairman of the City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung respectfully presented a Certificate of Merit and a bonus of 100 million VND to the working delegation. Authorized by the Minister of Public Security, Major General Bui Quang Binh, Director of the City Police, also solemnly presented Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security to 10 officers and soldiers for their outstanding achievements in performing international tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Do Thanh Trung praised the resilient and courageous fighting spirit of the soldiers, and affirmed that the courageous action of overcoming danger of the working delegation has moved the government and people of the friendly country, affirming the elite capacity and embellishing the noble spirit of international solidarity of the Hai Phong Police force.
Major General Bui Quang Binh, Director of Hai Phong City Police, emphasized that these results not only affirm the position and bravery of the Hai Phong Police force but also contribute to strongly spreading the image of Hai Phong people in particular and Vietnam in general, full of humanity and responsibility in the international arena. He requested the Fire and Rescue Police force of the City Police to continue to promote heroic traditions, always maintain a high state of combat readiness, be ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks to maintain peace for the people.
